The plots are only 17 km from the centre of Barcelona and are right in the middle of a well-known business park in Sant Cugat del Vallés. 2,700 businesses with around 48,000 employees are based there. These include large international corporations and medium-sized businesses, predominantly from the pharmaceutical technology, production and logistics sectors, such as Sharp, HP, Leroy Merlin and Roche. The location is characterised by outstanding connections to the motorway network and a high quality of life, and is one of the regions with the highest average incomes in all of Spain. Numerous universities, schools and shopping centres are in the immediate vicinity. A business hotel in the 3-4 star segment with approx. 100-130 rooms as well as a boarding house with approx. 80 units will be built on both plots with a total of 7,050 m² of space. Negotiations are currently underway with national and international hotel operators. The volume of investment will amount to approximately €20 million euros. The company aims to start construction in Q2 of 2017. Furthermore, a second project is being planned, located directly in downtown Barcelona. The international EUROPA-CENTER team has already been operating on the market in Barcelona’s metropolitan region for three years now. The purchase of this plot confirms the company’s successful entrance into the Spanish market.

Built by EUROPA-CENTER and operated by NOVUM Hospitality, the Holiday Inn Hotel in Barcelona will be completed in January 2022 and will open to guests at the end of March. EUROPA-CENTER is already planning two further projects in Spain. A total of approx. 80,000 m² of gross floor space will be created by 2025, and around 200 million euros will be invested.
